Frequently Asked Questions

What is Button’s Biscuits?

Button’s Biscuits is an artisan, woman-owned company based just outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee, blending Southern U.S. and Southern Italian traditions to create fig-filled pastries that we fondly call Dotti’s, Fig and Fruit Spreads, and cookies for direct-to-consumer, gifting and boutique retail.

What are Dotti’s pastries?

Dotti’s are an artisan spin on a Cuccidati; a Southern Italian fig-filled cookie traditionally made for the holidays — we’ve raised the standard by making them year-round with premium organic ingredients, figs, artisan dough and our Southern baker’s heart.

What ingredients do you use and do you have allergen information?

Our baked goods and spreads feature high-quality organic ingredients including locally sourced butter and eggs, and no artificial additives. We clearly label allergens (such as wheat/gluten, dairy, nuts) on each product page — please review the label for each product  or email us for detailed allergen breakdown. keith@buttonsbiscuits.com

Are your fig spreads gluten-free?

Our fig spreads are naturally gluten-free, but they are made in a facility that also handles products with gluten. If you have a severe gluten allergy, please contact us for the latest third-party testing or batch information.

How should I store my fig-filled pastries / cookies?

Store pastries in an airtight container at room temperature and consume within 5-7 days for best flavor; for longer storage you can freeze them for up to 3 months and thaw at room temperature prior to sharing with friends.

What is the shelf-life of your fig spread and when should I refrigerate it?

Unopened, our fig spreads keep up to 12 months in a cool, dark pantry; once opened refrigerate and use within 30 days. Always ensure the lid is tightly sealed and use clean utensils to preserve quality.

How can I use your fig spreads and tapenades?

Our fig spreads are versatile — spread on warm biscuits, pair with cheese and charcuterie, swirl into yogurt, or use in baking. The fig-enhanced tapenades make a great dip for crudités or a flavourful topping for grilled meats and flatbreads. They are great to pair with cheese on a charcuterie board for the next gameday.

Can I order a custom gift box or bulk order?

Yes — we offer curated gift boxes for holidays, weddings or corporate events, and we accommodate bulk orders with advance notice. Contact us here  for a custom quote, product line sheet and lead time.

What is your return/exchange policy?

Because our goods are perishable, returns are limited — if you receive a damaged or incorrect item, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos and we will happily arrange a replacement or refund.

What happens if my order arrives damaged or the items are not fresh?

We take quality seriously and pack with care. If your order arrives damaged or the goods don’t meet your expectations, please send us a message with the  order number and photos and we’ll work with you to correct it. You can reach out to us here to address this matter.

What makes your products different?

We combine Southern U.S. baking tradition with Southern Italian heritage: using premium figs, artisan techniques, small-batch production and attention to flavor. That means you’re getting handcrafted quality, not factory mass-production.

Are you a women-owned business and where are you based?

Yes — Button’s Biscuits is a woman-owned company based in Harrison, Tennessee, just outside of Chattanooga. We’re proud to support local economies and bring healthy, artisanal craftsmanship to every product.
